Waiting
By Sondra Stallman

I set my face to the window
And pressed against the pane
“Oh God, I need your wisdom and your Grace now!
Please explain!”

“My Child, said He, “You’ve always been
on the outside looking in!
Don’t you know I love you?
I’ve forgiven all your sin?”

Your debt was paid on Calvary through my blood and tears
So open the door Child, and come in!
I’m greater than your fears!”

I placed my hand on the lock of the door
And I watched as it slowly turned

How many times I’d cried to God!
Haw many years I’d yearned!

Thinking God was so far away!
But through the glass now, I see!
I was waiting for God to come…
But He was waiting on me!
