Dear Christmas
(an open letter by Sondra Stallman)

Dear Christmas, Here you come again!. .like a trumpet blast, a refreshing wind
Christmas, you fly upon Angel Wing!
Bringing remembrance of a humble King
For in that manger of wood and hay
In lowly estate my Savior lay.
Born to die for you and I
That we might inherit Eternal Day!

Dear Christmas, tell the story again…of Jesus who came to save us from sin!
Of Mary the Virgin who labored in birth
To bring forth your Son Jesus to Earth
Dear Christmas, Your tinsel and Shiny Tree
Is not what God meant Christmas to be!
The shine of His Star still glows today, remembering a baby born in the hay.

Dear Christmas, take a look at your name!
You’re the Birthday of Christ and you’re still the same!
No Santa, No Reindeer, No Frosty, No Snow
Will ever give Christmas its Special Glow

Dear Christmas, Your True Spirit comes from above
As it did long ago when God sent His Love
Through a Babe in a Manger, the birth of a King!
That’s why, Dear Christmas, the Angels Sing!

That’s why your Season is Special, it’s true!
It’s about Jesus, Dear Christmas,
It’s not about You.
